Using Tanso TV

Watching live TV
Open Tanso TV and pick a channel from the channel list. While watching you can:
- Pause and rewind live TV — Tanso TV buffers the stream so you can step away and pick up where you left off.
- Switch channels without losing your place in a recording-in-progress.
- Record the program you're watching with a single press.
Recording conflicts. Your tuner can only record as many simultaneous programs as it has tuners
(most USB tuners have 1–2). If two recordings overlap and no tuner is free, Tanso TV will warn you —
prioritize the one that matters or add a second USB tuner.
Managing your library
- Recordings live in your recording folder as standard video files — copy them, back them up, or play them in any media player. They're yours.
- Delete from inside the app when you're done, or just delete the files — Tanso TV picks up the change.
- Watch your disk space. HD recordings run ~3–6 GB/hour. If the drive fills up, recordings will fail — set a reminder to prune, or point Tanso TV at a bigger drive in settings.
Watching on other devices
On any phone, tablet, or computer on your home network, open a modern browser and go to your Tanso TV address — live TV plays right in the browser, no app to install.
Tips
- Rescan channels occasionally — broadcast lineups change, and a fresh scan picks up new subchannels.
- Wired beats Wi-Fi for the machine running Tanso TV if you can manage it; live TV is happiest on a stable connection.
